ICT & Computer Science

Welcome to the ICT and Computer Science Department

We pride ourselves at Dyffryn Taf to deliver a broad curriculum to ensure that our pupils develop the relevant digital skills to be prepared for today's modern, digital society.

Key Stage 3

New Year 7 Curriculum

As part of the new year 7 curriculum pupils will be given the opportunity to explore and experience a wider range of activities that develop their computational thinking and problem solving skills. Pupils will also be taught key ICT skills which will be enhanced through cross curricular projects across other areas of learning. We aim to provide our pupils with the opportunity to broaden their learning experiences and become creative, ambitious and capable learners who are proud of their successes.

At KS3 we deliver new and relevant activities that focus on developing both ICT and Computer Science skills.  By the end of KS3 pupils will learn how to use several software packages to perform everyday tasks which will assist them with other subjects across the curriculum.  Each year pupils will be able to apply their skills on both office and multi media based projects.

Pupils will also develop their programming and problem solving skills using different languages to broaden their knowledge and skills on coding.
